Get answers to common questions about Back Wax (Women).
Some soreness and redness are normal immediately after a back wax. Discomfort is brief — most clients report sensitivity for a few hours to 24-48 hours. We use soothing post-wax care and tips to reduce irritation and accelerate healing.
Exfoliate gently 48 hours prior and ensure hair is about ¼ inch long. Avoid heavy lotions, tanning, or retinoids for 48-72 hours. Clean, dry skin helps the wax adhere and improves comfort and results.
Most clients enjoy smooth results for three to six weeks, depending on individual hair growth. Regular waxing can reduce regrowth over time and lead to finer, sparser hair for longer intervals between visits.
Avoid waxing if you have sunburn, open wounds, active skin infections, recent chemical peels, or are on certain acne medications. Notify us about medications or medical conditions before your appointment.
Keep the area clean and avoid hot baths, heavy sweating, and sun exposure for 24-48 hours. Apply a calming lotion or aloe and gently exfoliate after 48 hours to prevent ingrown hairs.
Pregnancy is generally safe for back waxing, though sensitivity may increase; consult your provider if unsure. Tell us about medications like Accutane or blood thinners, as some treatments are contraindicated or require precautions.
